ONE RECENT afternoon, I was able to attend Usad Edsa, a multistakeholder consultation held by the technical working group of Cabinet Secretary Jose Almendras. The group presented its efforts, facts on traffic problems, and proposed solutions on making Edsa free-flowing, thus reducing the probability of having a daily “carmaggedon” in Metro Manila. 27 September—My Geography 255 class, which is all about environmental hazards and disasters, visited Buklod Tao. The visit was a wonderful learning experience, and it gave me a very good perspective of community planning and a grassroots approach to disaster risk reduction and management.

Yesterday, I went to UP Diliman to attend Usad EDSA, a multi-stakeholder consultation spearheaded by the technical working group of Cabinet Secretary Jose Almendras. The forum was a venue for the TWG to present traffic facts, their objectives, limitations, ongoing efforts, and proposed traffic solutions.
